About Lake Wylie, SC - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Lake Wylie is a community in York County, South Carolina. As of 2010, approximately 8,850 people lived here. Lake Wylie can be found on a peninsula along the shores of Lake Wylie, a reservoir named for Dr. W. Gil Wylie. Although the community is found in South Carolina, it is generally considered a suburb of Charlotte, which is found in North Carolina.

There are several great things to see and do in the area, starting with the ample water sports and activities provided by the lake. Rizz’s Outdoors is a popular bowfishing charter located in the area, and visitors can rent a jet ski at Wylie Watercraft. There are several great restaurants located in the area, including Shia Asian Bistro, the Sweetwater Sports Bar & Grill, Bagel Boat, and Cherry.  Visitors who are in need of some rest and relaxation might like to check out Rejuvenate or Classic Salon Nails & Spa, and other popular destinations include Pure Bliss Yoga or Lake Wylie Bowl ‘N Bounce.

Lake Wylie is known for its humid subtropical climate zone, which is characterized by cool, dry winters and humid summers. Precipitation doesn’t vary greatly between the seasons, and during the cool winters, sleet, rain, and snow are all possibilities. Average high temperatures during this season are below 50 degrees Fahrenheit while overnight lows often below freezing, so residents will need a reliable heat pump or furnace to stay comfortable.

The summers in Lake Wylie are great for outdoor recreation out on the water, as average high temperatures reach the upper 80s. Occasional strong thunderstorms with hail are possible, and with high humidity, it can make conditions quite uncomfortable. Considering the high humidity levels in the area, a reliable central air conditioner with a high SEER rating is a necessary investment to make it through the season safely.
